chrisandaaron- Your crib is beautiful! I have been looking for white furniture, that is not too expensive, everywhere.
This seems like a weird question, but do your cribs have wheels on them? For some reason, I really do not like the look of wheels on a crib. And if a pic shows wheels, can they usually be removed, or optional on a crib? |

Chris I love your nursery! My son loves Dogs, so maybe when we move into the new house we will do a dog theme for him.
God Bless, Summer

We also used a Kidsline set as the "foundation" for our gender-neutral nursery--it's their "Arcadia" line, which features jungle animals in very pale, almost icy pastels (I call them ice cream colors) of green, blue, yellow, and lavender. The theme of the room has become "Jungle at night"--we even found a wall clock that has jungle animals at 12, 3, 6, and 9, that says "In the mighty mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight."
I've attached a pic--had to resize it because it was too big, so I'm crossing my fingers that it's not too messy. |

Great ideas!
WOW!
I should know better than to ask a question and then be away from the boards all day! Thanks for all your ideas. You ladies are great! I have to tell you that my husband calls you my imaginary friends. "What are you doing in there?... chatting with your imaginary friends again?" He teases, but he knows that these board are the only thing that keep me sane sometimes! I'm sure he's grateful to my "imaginary friends" because it gives him a break from listening to me stress out about the waiting.I don't even know where to start commenting about your posts. Everyone has such great ideas (I knew you would) and the pictures are awesome. Jen, those dots are so adorable! I also would like to know how you did that. If you painted that free-hand, I am really impressed! Shay and Casey, I have looked at (and loved) both the Malawi set and the barnyard set. I am starting my search for the Cat in the Hat bedding this morning. What a great theme for the child of an English teacher! Cathy, that picture of you and Lexi in the crib is hysterical! You must be so tiny! I'm 5'10" so I'm pretty sure I won't be posting any shots of me in our baby's crib... unless I'm folded up like some crazy pretzel! Chrisandaaron, We saw a photo in a magazine of walls painted similar to picture you sent. We're thinking about doing one wall like that to match whatever bedding we end up with. Karen, One of our first ideas was a Mickey and Minnie theme, but I have not seen anything anywhere yet. The only thing I've found is pastel/baby Mickey and I didn't really care for it. Still searching for something with the classic black and red. Gina, your nursery is a little slice of heaven. Did you paint the drawers or did the dresser come like that? Quote:
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! And please keep the ideas and the great photos coming. Kelli

I'm a big Kelly Rightsell fan. If I were to choose a neutral pattern of her's it would be the circus theme.
Whatever you do have fun!

When we looked for beds for our Nursery. I think the cheaper beds had wheels. There is NO WAY I wanted a crib with wheels. I think we spent over $300.00 for Lexi's bed but it's so heavy. Babies R Us has tons of beds. I don't know if you can take the wheels off a crib or not?? That is a good question..

Kelli and Cathy, thanks so much! We've been working really hard on it and I'm thrilled with how it looks so far. My husband is now in the process of building a cute bookshelf for the other side of the room--we saw one we loved on the Rosenberry Rooms web site but it was $2500
, and he said "Hey, I can build that!" The big dresser was actually something I bought at an unfinished furniture store more than 10 years ago. I had stained it a light maple and used it in my bedroom for quite awhile; when I moved in with DH and we did our house, it didn't really suit our bedroom at all so we had it in a spare room. So we stripped it down and painted it to go in the nursery! (I also just painted an unfinished furniture store toy chest with some of the same colors this weekend; I'll post that later!) |

Gina...That is so cool that your husband built it. You guys should be so proud of the room. Man, $2,500.00 is crazy...
We spent alot on Lexi's room but not that much.. Can't wait to see more pictures...

I love looking at everyone's nurseries! We decided primary color bedding from from Pottery Barn. I painted clouds on the ceiling and a mural of central park on one of the walls. Although the room is blue, I still think it is gender neutral.
DH thinks that this was my ploy to tempt fate. Paint the nursery blue, and we'll certainly end up getting selected by a birthmother who is having a girl. I don't have a gender preference, but I think deep down, he'd like a little boy... If we do adopt a girl, I plan on adding in more red and yellow to the room and adding some eyelet lace to the curtains. If it's a boy, we'll add in more green and blue. Brooke |

My crib does have wheels. We bought it at our local JC Penny outlet store for a really good price. I'm not sure if the wheels come off, but at worst you could probably saw them off pretty easy. We actually bought all of the furniture (changing table, armoire, and crib) at the outlet. It was all different colors, but we knew we would paint everything except the crib and we saved a ton of money! |

I have to give my mom the credit on that one. She drew the dog and then made the quilt and painted the pictures. She is amazing! Thanks, Chris |

I'm a huge fan of bright, light green with either hot pink or blue accents, depending on the gender.
I saw someone decorate a nursery with green walls, white furniture, and then pink bedding and pink drawer faces on the white furniture. It looked amazing! It would look equally good with blue. DH did a huge four-wall jungle mural for some friends of ours little girl for a Make A Wish Foundation room make-over. It was amazing! I'm a huge fan of pretty-but-basic nursery and then more elaborately decorated rooms when kids are old enough to identify their obsessions--in this case, a jungle with puppies, kitties, turtles, monkeys, unicorns, panda bears, and other assorted animals, some more jungle-appropriate than others. ![]() You all have some great ideas and beautiful nurseries! |

Our son's room is VERY neutral. We used a sage-y green and found some antique children's book pages which we framed and put on the wall. It's been a boy's room but it will be my daughter's room in a few months - we're switching everyone around. I plan on adding lots of pink to the room when DD is moved in. Sage-like colors are great because they look great with blue (especially denim) and also with pinks. I'll try to post pictures of the room tomorrow.
