My husband is active duty Navy for almost 15 years. I can honestly say that I would not change anything about it!!! We get to fall in love all over again every year or so .... this is ALWAYS fun
!!! We get to see the world --- WE LIVE IN HAWAII FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! We have made life long friends. Our children will not have to worry about college tuition (If they choose to go!) as the GI bill can be transferred to children. We don't ever have to worry about the rising cost of healthcare. We can afford to purchase a home (we choose to live in housing because of the community feel). Our children will always have friends whose dad's leave too --- they won't ever be alone. I won't either!Being a military family is not what I dreamed of as a child but it has fulfilled all me dreams. Another thing that differentiates military families is that we stick together --- always, without question. We are the only ones who truely understand what it means and trying to explain it doesn't work. Thank you for taking the time to read this post, maybe it will help others understand. Have a great new year ..... Maura. |
