Talking Fun: T.V shows you grew up with?

We talked about the cartoons we loved as a child what about the shows we grew up with or started watching the reruns to.

I know all the tragic news lately compelled me to start some fun threads we all can post to.

Thanks for letting me post so many!!

BTW: I will be 32 next week. I feel old!

Here are a few of mine:
One Day at a Time
Three's Company
The Monkees (on MTV)
The Jeffersons
Taxi

Gosh I am sure once others post I will remember some others.

Cool

When I was 8 or 10 or so I was into the 'Dukes of Hazzard' I wanted to marry Bo and grow up to be just like Daisy!
I love that the new movie is coming out now. Makes me smile!

This show was even a bit before my time, but I absolutely still love Gilligan's Island. (Okay, I'll duck before someone throws something at me.)

Thanks Shay, I'm glad you've got my back. My hubby is an Iron Chef fanatic. I just love watching the flamboyant announcer. Oh and the people doing the interpreting makes it all just over the top. Excellent show.

My parents were super-strict so lots of shows were off-limits to us, which made us sneak to watch them whenever we possibly could, like at our grandparents' house.

So, I have 2 categories:

Permitted Shows I Loved:
Sha Na Na
The Dukes of Hazzard
Little House on the Prairie
The Muppet Show
Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters
Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom
The Wonderful World of Disney (or whatever it was called - it was on Sunday nights)
The Brady Bunch

Shows We Weren't Supposed to Watch, but Did and Loved :
Love Boat
Three's Company
Fantasy Island
Gilligan's Island
Batman and Robin (or was it just called Batman?)
The Hardy Boys

Oh yeah, and we used to love to stay up "late" with my grandfather (this was legal lol) and watch Lawrence Welk with him whenever we could.

And for the record, I am 33.... so I'm sure some of these shows were in repeats by the time I watched them. I'm also not counting the PBS shows that we watched when we were really little, but there I'd have to root for Sesame Street and Electric Company over Mr. Roger's Neighborhood (which was my sister's favorite so I had to watch it too... )

Shay - glad you're posting these on the general boards so everybody can share in the fun!

Cheers!
Heather

as a kid, I watched:

hogan's heroes
all the cop shows mom liked: rockford files, columbo, baretta, etc.
Star trek (the original, not the new ones)
batman
and the news. mom was a news junkie and so am I. we had the news on all the time.
and I loved all the old wwII documentaries, which were on a lot.

I know this really isn't a t.v. show persay but I remember getting ready to sit in the floor and watch the Wizard of Oz. I would watch it every year when it cam on t.v.

I still watch it if I catch it on...does it still come on t.v. every year?
