Ok the smurf nursery got me thinking about the cartoons that I loved watching as a child. I know Daria probably won't get to enjoy the ones I loved.
What are the cartoons you grew up watching and would have loved for your child(ren) to have enjoyed too. Here are a few of mine: Smurfs (big time) Jetsons Flintstones Muppets (not really a cartoon) Bugs Bunny I am sure there are more I just can't think of them right now.

I am still a cartoon junkie, addicted to the cartoon network (daytime and the adult swim programs).
favorite cartoons as a child (and I can tell everyone's age by the cartoons they loved, and I'm way older than most of you at 44): sinbad the sailor (totally had a crush on him as he pulled his belt and grew a buff physique) jonny quest (the old one, not those new ones) I wanted to be a "scientist" like his dad. what was up with Haji (sp)? did they go to India, grab a brown kid for companionship for jonny?!? Favorite cartoons now: gargoyles (repeats now from the 1990s) Xmen family guy Kim possible Justice league (all its diff forms) Batman (various forms) there are more but it would then appear that all I do is watch cartoons ![]()

Does anybody remember "Schoolhouse Rock"? I LOVED that! It's how I remember the preamble to the Constitution, "We the people in order to form a more perfect union establish just insure domestic tranquility. Provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution of the United States of America". (I remember all that from that silly song!
) I know, y'all are thinking what Willie Wonka would say..."you're really weird". ![]() |

Oh - you guys are so young (even you, Lisa!)
I probably won't get the names of the shows right, but I remember watching Yogi Bear/Jellystone Park (I even still have the old plastic plate with all the characters on it), Quick Draw McGraw, Underdog, and Popeye. I'll probably remember more later...

Brenda,
I loved Thundercats, too. He-man, She-ra, Tranzor-Z (or whatever it was called..it was about a giant robot). I liked the Spiderman and friends cartoon, too. Snagglepuss (and aaaway we go...fun even) Speed Buggy..I think that was the name There was another cartoon that I liked...I forget its name...but it had Mandrake the Magician, the Puma (I think), two others...and their kids. As you can see, I didn't have a limit on the hours I could watch TV ... yet I was still an honor student up until I hit my senior year, go figure? David |
