Baby2luv, is this your first adoption? I have learned SO much by going through one domestic adoption already. I know what I will not do again and what worked. The costs can range depending on what route you take. If you hire an agency it can be really expensive. You know that you will have to hire an attorney for yourself and for the bmom and will have to do your home study. Those 2 are a given. It is the other expenses that you do not know about until the time comes; travel, medical, etc. Our first adoption was 18,000.00. We hired an agency and had to hire many attorneys (long story) plus we had to travel. This time around we are not going to hire an agency and are more selective as to who we hire to do our home study and who our attorney will be.
