well, this isnt a GLBT book....but i liked it.
its called 'the family book' by Todd Parr. it has all different kinds of families....from different skin tones, adoption, and 2 mommies/ 2 daddies and it just goes on and on..... its a very good book to discuss the diversity of families, and it was great to see that no family was left out. it easy an extrememly simple book to read...and the grahpics are wonderful.... he also used different animals for the picture of the families which was great. |

which of these books is for ages 3-5 or so? I'd love to buy some for dd. She currently owns "heather has two mommies" and a few by todd parr that stress similar issues.

Please forgive my rudeness of posting on this without any formal (or previous) introduction.
I found this site through an online search as I was looking for sites for non-traditional families in relation to scrapbooking. It was in this Swiki (search word cloud blog) in case you're interested. Last edited by scrappykim : 04-26-2006 at 11:56 PM. |

I'd like to add And Tango Makes Three by Peter Parnell. It's a picture book based on the true story of two male penguins at the Central Park Zoo who nuture a penguin egg and take care of the hatching chick.
I just bought it for our library and it is really well done. take care, Beth |

Wow - glad this got bumped up! I wasn't on the boards when this came around the first time. This is an AWESOME list - whether your child is touched by GLBT issues in the home or not. We hope to raise our child with a love and respect for everyone and I'd be happy to add some of these books to our library right from the start!! Thanks for the post, echaos - and I do hope you're still on the board!
