Meeting with Potential Birthmom
Today we are having our first meeting with a potential birthmom! We are excited to meet her. (And I am also nervous.) We've talked on the phone a few times and seem to hit it off, so it will probably go o.k.
Please keep your fingers crossed and say some prayers for us.

Dee,
Nerves are normal - she will be nervous too. Just be yourself and maybe start with some common ground. If you have a photo album it might help get the ball rolling to share that with her. Good luck...

I also agree about photo album. I am not sure how everyone elses 1st meetings run, we met with pbmoms social worker for 1/2 hour before our meeting. SW was also present at meeting. Anyways, make sure you ask all the questions you feel you need to ask. Even if you think it may upset pbmom. We had concerns about her drinking and I wanted to see/ feel her response. We were not confident she was being truthful. I asked the SW to bring it up in a way so it didnt look like we were being the "bad guys". Remember its your choice too. Not trying to be negative, just honest. Be youreself and you will be fine. Best of luck!

Thanks everyone! Our meeting went well. She said she chooses us, and the ball is now in our court. We feel confident that this is a good match for us. We just have a couple of questions for her attorney, and then we will be ready to move forward. So, we could be matched next week! I guess I will need to update my signature line soon -- something I have been looking forward to doing for a long time!
I can hardly believe we could be parents in a couple of months.
