A lit'l angel

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to share about my afternoon. I used to volunteer at a crisis nursery near my house, but quit going because of several life reasons. Anyway, I went back again today after a few years away and I had the most terrific day!

I rocked and held a four week old baby M*. She was the sweetest baby and soooooo tiny and fragile. She went to sleep in my arms and was making the best faces. I've held babies before, but she was so theraputic for me. I really needed to give back I guess. I can't wait to return and I'm definitely going to make a regular thing of it.

I'm still not going to baby showers and I hate to hear people talk about their kids like they're sick of them, but I feel like I've made a significant step towards healing. I'm not upset and I'm not emotional, I feel a weight has been lifted from my shoulders and it feels good. I feel so much more confident about our decision to adopt and so much more relaxed about our kids coming when the time is right.

That's about it, hope I'm not too corny or whatever, thanks for listening and thanks to everyone for always being there when I've been so mad at the world that I wanted to scream.

What a wonderful volunteer idea. I'm glad you are able to do that again!

No, you're not 'too corny' at all! I think you're doing something VERY good for others, as well as yourself! Good for you!!!!

Sincerely,

Linny
