As I write this I am excited, anxious, scared and overly happy! Our little girl has her TPR in July! I can't wait! I wonder if things will feel different? Will things feel the same? When we offically adopt her and give her our name offically it may feel different then.
We have not had our little fd very long, since March 20th, 2005. If feels like it has been longer. She is bonded to us, especially me. It has been a long process and will finally be over in about nine months! We have had so many ups and downs doing foster care for five years now. Having had almost forty children come through our doors it seems strange to think this little one will not be leaving. She will actually be our daughter!
The story with our fd is...I found out about this little girl who I was told at the time was 2 years old, in December 2004. I did so much searching to find out where she was and who her workers were. Nothing happened. I heard about her again in February 2005. I said "This is our little girl and I just have to work harder to get her in our home." I found out who her worker was and after pushing her worker and talking to the supervisor I was able to meet her. After meeting her, we had many visits and overnights and then she did not go home. She has been here ever since. She is here to stay!
Now we have to plan her 2nd birthday! I can't wait! The same month as her TPR is her birthday! July will be a great month for us!
