Hello, We are a prospective adoptive couple who have already completed all the required homestudy paperwork, and have been selected by a birthmother to adopt her baby. Our son is due in May, we have exhausted all our savings, 401k plans, checking account funds, and have even applied for grant help. We are now at the final stage of adoption, and are truely in need of help to fund the final cost. We will need to travel from the East coast to the West coast to bring home, our son. He is due May 15th, 2005 and we need help. We have asked all of our friends and family for help and have received a very poor response.
We are looking for any ideas, or advice at this point. We have invested all of our money, and are hearts into this adoption. We truely love this baby and he is not yet part of our family. If any one has any suggestions we are very open to your advice and help.

I can't offer your family anything put prayers. My dh and I just had to retain an attorney yesterday so he could file for "legal standing" for us. It's going to cost us a small fortune to fight for our fs. I don't work outside the home (so I can stay home and raise our fs) and my husband farms a little and works for a farmer - no money there!!

If you or your family are involved in a Church or if you are involved in any clubs and etc., you might want to check out their fund raising guidelines. I know in Indiana, there are several restaurants that have special evenings where the proceeds of the night goes to special clubs and etc. You might want to look into this.

If you need the money for the baby's medical bills, you might want to contact the hospital and see if there is anything special they can do. I know sometimes there are special funds and etc. set up for people who are going thru special situations.

If you need money for transportation, figure out how you are going to get there - plane, train, bus - and then contact these companies and see if they can offer you or your family any special discounts.

Thank you so much for your prayers. We will look into a club or help from an organization soon. Time is clearly not on our side at this point. We aren't sure if the adoption grant was denied or they just haven't reviewed our quest for assistance.
