Qestions: TPR per State & Relative Adoption

I have information about a potential adoption situation that I am trying to gather all facts for. My questions are two fold: is there any website or forum that lists information for (1) all states as to the time period of TPR and ICPC periods or 2) qualifications for "relative or family" for designated adoptions?

I am trying to gather information and facts on a potential situation from Ohio. One of the birthparents is a "relative" but not by blood (my husband's aunt's brother / aunt is only by marriage). I need to know if this qualifies for a "Family Member" Adoption or can this be a "Designated" -- not sure if there is a correct term for a situation where the BP determine the AP. Also, in a "family" placement are there different criteria for the adoption process.

Thank you for reading through my babling. I think much faster than I type! I appreciate any information you could give me.

You should be able to contact DSHS in your state and ask, they should be able to tell you if you are considered relative according to the state laws, also, make sure that you contact the actual case worker, and even the GAL to get as much information as you can. try to take into consideration the GALs recomendation and feeling as to what is in the best interest of the child.

Hope that helps
