We finally got a date for our adoption hearing! We are so excited, that our son will be officially our forever son! So we are planning this big party and I can hardly keep focused I am so happy!
Anyway, do you have any suggestions as far as a cake and invitations go? Thanks and I look forward to your help with ideas!

Hi!

Congratulations! This is such an exciting time for sure!!! We had our close family and friends celebrate with us on our son's finalization day. We didn't do invitations...just called everyone. But on the cake we put..."You changed our lives forever". Overall it was a wonderful day and we had a terrific courtroom experience as well. Our judge was wonderful and actually was the person who wrote the adoption statutes in our county and was also an adoptive mother. I wish you all the best of luck!!

Congratulations!! We didn't have a finalization hearing so we had a big party to do that and to celebrate. We did send invites "It's finally official!" And we invited everyone our dd was almost 2 and had a blast with all her little friends and everyone one else dotting on her . Have fun

Congratulations - isn't it exciting? We, too, just got our court date for finalization - and I can hardly wait!

I have also been working on planning the celebration and would love to hear from others on what types of things they did. Ours is scheduled for a Monday morning - so we probably will keep it fairly small - close family and friends. I just haven't decided on how formal I want to be and if I will send invites, order a cake, etc.

Thanks for the congrats and the great ideas! Our hearing is on a Friday and we are doing the party the next day. I have decided on a time 2-5 and we are doing appetizers and of course a cake. It is just going to be a fun get together, nothing formal! But I have decided to do adoption announcements (we did with our first son) so I may not do anything fancy as far as invites!
I can't wait to read more ideas!
