looking for a specific car seat toy...

that has a steering wheel with horn and asst car stuff. Dd needs a car seat toy and we can't find one with good reviews that has a wheel, horn and other things. I know leap frog makes one but frankly, leap frog voices are like nails on a chalk board for me. anyone have a similar toy that they can recommend? thanks,

Lisa

I think I saw something similar when we were out the other day. When I can remember where we were, I will let you know!

Lisa, I found a few car seat toys you can check out. I happened to be looking for one for my neice and nephew.[Edited To Remove the URL to a Retail or “Fee Based Service” website.]

I had bought the fisher price dash board one. Didn't like it at all. I could only occasionally get it to respond, so how was ds going to figure out the interactive aspect of it, if it was so had to activate? It got returned! I would definately skip it.

Sorry! I didn't know about the rule about URL's to retail websites. The best carseat toys I found were called "Beep Beep Traffic Jam" by Small World Toys, and "Fly n Drive Super Car Bar" by Tiny Love.

thanks for the help guys.

sarah-I understand from some of the reviews that some kids like these toys, others don't. Willing to risk it for dd. She needs something to sit in her lap to do while we drive, etc. any other suggestions?

I meant skipt that particular model, not the idea altogether. Didn't realize until later it came out other than I meant it.

What we've done is buy some of the lamaze stuffed toys and used links to tie it to the headrest of one of the back seats. I love the horse and the firefly best. Each crinkle, squeaks, and has pieces to pull, yank and chew on.

Other than that ds only gets small toys (preferable soft)in the car, that sometimes end up in the floorboard. I'm too paranoid to get him anything hard that could stike him in case of accident. According to hubby, I'm a driving bulls-eye for car accidents. In fact I'm sitting here with a neck brace on now from my last accident. It SUCKS! Hadn't had that car 6 mos yet and the guy totaled it! Thank goodness I was still on the way to pick up ds, so he wasn't with me.

By the way - about cars - what did you end up purchasing anyway?

hi,

me too especially after the accident. some of these are soft models, and will cause minimal harm.

sorry to hear about your accident. we ended up getting a Honda CRV. has room for stroller and accessories, room for a car seat and two real sized adults in the back seat, and is very comfortable. don't know how it will do in an accident, but I hear does well in crash tests. hope I never have to find out. since dd arrived it does feel as if everyone is gunning for me . can't tell you how many near misses I've had. of course, it is Los angeles, so this may be standard driving

dd is bored with her toys in the car, so I was hoping for something that might entertain her for a few minutes.
