Question Need Stroller Advice....

Let me start by saying I already have a really nice Mclaren stroller that's perfect for the mall and stores etc.

What I need is a really sturdy stroller. I don't jog. DH does though. I do like to go for long walks with my doggies though. We also have kids who play soccer and go to tournaments so are walking allover the fields, dirt roads etc. We also vacation in Vermont and would like something that can handle the smoother trails. I'm thinking like a jog stroller but can still go in the car. I had a jogger when my other kids wer little but it was joke to put it in the car.

Does anyone have a stroller they like for those things or am I getting too picky????I don't mind if it's a little pricey as long as it's tough and we can use it for a few years.

Thanks in Advance,

Martha

Hi Martha!

I have a Peg-Perego Venezia and absolutley LOVE it!!!!!!!! It is pricey but I think worth it. My SIL has one, too, and my nieces are 3 and 5. The 3 year old still gets in it when they're on vacation and she is tired of walking! It is dependable and easy to fold and comes in some great fabrics....all machine washable. I also like the fact that it has a big hood, reclines, has a 5-point harness and boot for colder weather. The best feature is the fact that the handle moves front and back...so you can have the baby face you or face out. My son is almost 13 mos and loves to see out into the world but when he is napping if we are out and about, I have him face me.

Hope the suggestions keep rolling in! Good luck!

I got a stroller by in-step The jog stroller folk) at toysrus. It was a 4 wheeled vs. 3 wheeled type. It was about $100. I lived near the beach and got it just to walk son to beach and stuff like that. Most of it's components were plastic. It folded pretty easy. My jog stroller also folds pretty easy, but is tough to turn. As far as the Peg; I also had one, I hated it as it was very bulky, tough to close and open. Got a combi and used that for everyday use. LOVED IT. Also, I took it 2 times to hawaii for extended trips and it held up very well even sand laden.

I have a Graco stroller (cannot remember exact type) with the big wheels, and I loved it. It was so easy to push even on rough terrain.

I could carry lots of stuff in the large storage basket underneath.

I paid about $150 for it, but it was so worth it.

We have a jeep umbrella stroller that is very sturdy. not much storage options though. However, I think they have full sized strollers as well.

They are made to go various places (parks, etc).

Think past the stroller - get a Burly bike trailer. There are one- or two-child models and have an option that converts the trailer to a stroller. We can ride to our destination and within one minute I can have the trailer disconnected from my bike and in "stroller" mode. There is plenty of storage in the back. Most importantly, the wheels are wide radius bike wheels that can handle any terrain. Also, it will carry you past the "stroller years."
