Last night we had a fantastic visit with the boy we are trasitioning into our home. He's 11 and very much wants to join our family. We went to his town, about three hours away, and took him to dinner at his favorite retaurant. It was great funa nd we took all sorts of pictures, including one the waitress took of us all standing as a family. Our first one! YAY~! He was so excited that he would have the pictures to look at until he comes to us on Friday.
Well, we stopped at the local Walmart to use the machine that will print the photos right from the XD disc in our digital camera. We literally skipped to the photo lab in the back of the store. Sadly, it has just closed and the machine was down for the night. The look on our boy's face was so very sad. We were on our way to drop him off and he knew this meant no pictures. So? What's a mom to do?I found the store manager and explained the situation to him. He said? "Oh, don't worry...come on back and I get that sorted for you. That's important stuff!" On the way to the photo lab, he commented that my bio son and our soon to be son looked alike and acted like brother who grew up together. How sweet. It took thirty minutes, but he got the machine up and running, allowing us to print our pictures much to the delight of our kiddos! You could feel the excitement tingling the air!The sweetest part was when the manager, Lee, handed me the envelope of pictures telling me that there would be no charge and that he wished us the best of luck and hoped our family would always smile as much as were were right then. A million thanks later, we were walking out of the store to the car, with the boys already arguing over who got to look at them first! hehe What a dear man. So, this was a good visit to Walmart, the place I always gripe about! LOL It's just nice to see the kind side of people. Helps make everything better somehow, doesn't it? Joby P.S. and no...I do NOT work for Wally world...lol ![]()

What a sweet, sweet story. Most people will not take the time out of their lives to help others, what a wonderful man to do that for you guys. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the affirmations y'all! I DID write a letter and sent it to the company. I'll also send one to his direct manager because I know people don't have to do this like that. They CHOOSE to do them. Life is all about the choices we make. Some just have a bigger impact!
Hope you all have a fantastic day!! Joby

Hi Joby,
Thanks for sharing the story. I was thinking the same thing as you, this place I always complain about haha. I was going to post and ask you to follow up on this person's behalf, but I saw that you already did. I was glad to see that. It was a very kind thing that he did, and I always try to go out of my way to make sure people like that get acknowledgement whenever possible. see ya. |
