Hi Everyone... first time posting

My husband and I are empty nesters.. married almost 24 years. After our youngest young man left for the Air Force in September we told ourselves that we would talk about adoption again after the holidays. We had been talking about adoption for many years... We have decided to pursue the possibility of adopting an older child and our home study is scheduled for Saturday.
Wish us luck in this decision. Lois

Hi, welcome. I know the empty next syndrome my oldest joined the navy a five years ago, so we had a few years before our twins came into our lives they are now 21 months. I love having children in the house. I am sure you are making the right decision for you. Good Luck

Hi Lois,

Welcome to the forum. Our kids are 17 and 20 and we're in the process of adopting our 1, 2, and 3 y/o foster kids so you're not alone! We would have been empty nesters this coming August.

We absolutely LOVE having the little ones with us and feel so blessed that they came into our lives.

Best of luck in your adoption process. I hope things so quickly and smoothly for you and your dh.

Michelle
