Our new son needs your prayers
I am so glad that this forum is here for support. Our new son, Noah, needs your prayers. We were matched with him only three days before his birth. He was born a few weeks early by emergency c-section due to bmom having high blood pressure. We knew before he was born that he had Downs syndrome, but they did not think he had any other health problems. At three days of age he had to go on oxygen temporarily. He was in two hospitals (transferred to a NICU) the first six days of his life. We were able to return home with him the day before Thanksgiving. He has since failed several hearing tests and we are not sure if this is due to a hearing impairment or just fluid that is in his ears. He has also been diagnosed with a heart defect that is currently not causing him problems but may in the future.
On Christmas Eve Noah was hospitalized for a viral respiratory infection. He has been on oxygen since he was admitted to the hospital as he is unable to keep his oxygen levels up. As of today (New Years Day) he continues to be on oxygen and is still very congested. He is on several medications including one to keep fluid from building around his heart. They tell us he will get better, but due to having Downs and the fact that he is only seven weeks old, it will be a long recovery. It is so hard seeing him struggle so much. My dh and I are taking turns staying at the hospital with him since we have our other two children at home. We can't wait to have our whole family together again. Please say a prayer for Noah's quick recovery. We appreciate all of your support. Sue |

Gracious and merciful heavenly Father we lift baby Noah up to your throne of grace and ask that you would heal his little body Lord, clear his lungs and cause him to breathe on his own again. He is so helpless and small Lord and he needs you and his family needs you. Please comfort them, increase their faith, and give them strength as they go through this scary trial. Please Lord give the doctors and anyone else involved with Noah's care wisdom and guidence.
In Jesus' name, AMEN Judy |

Hi Sue,
We will definitely keep you, your family, and Noah in our prayers! Having a medically fragile child (although not downs syndrome), I do understand the feelings you all are going through right now. If you ever need to talk, please feel free to pm me. I'd be happy to listen. Best of luck to you. Michelle

Sending healing thoughts your way. Babies have the most remarkable way of healing, it's like they don't realize they should be sick.

Hugs to Noah
Hang in there. The medicines do work. My nephew was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and has had these types of problems. It scares you to death, but the docs & nurses know what they are doing. Hugs to Noah from everyone here! I'm praying for the speediest recovery!
