"Lost"

I see we have some fans of "Lost" out there. Cool!
However, it may be a bit confusing to have posts of "Lost" and choking on the same thread, so I thought for those of you who are interested, I would just start a "Lost" thread.
This way, we could keep the choking thread on topic and still have a place for fans of "Lost" to talk about the show.
Now, what I'm wondering about is why does Jack get two flashback episodes while other characters haven't had any, yet?

I've been wondering that myself. Some of the other folks need to be explained, but i guess it takes too much time with one or two folks the center of each episode.

not to nitpick, but the japanese woman apparently traveled with tweezers. she may be filthy but she finds the time to pluck her eyebrows:-). Priorities.

As a kid I read the story about the soccer players crashing in the andes and then resorting to cannibalism so I started carrying massive amounts of food on airplanes (a ton of beef jerky, candy etc). Now as a vegetarian I do the same thing so I don't have to worry about making that massive leap from veggie to cannibal:-). Now I'll have to remember to pack tweezers.

taggrr2, the relationship that Jack (the doctor) and his father had is slowly being unraveled via flashbacks. Wednesday's episode showed one of the reasons why Jack apparently did not think very highly of him. His father was alcohol impaired and operated on a young woman who ended up dying. Jack is a do-good kind of guy, as you could probably tell. I think his father pushed him really hard.

In an earlier episode we learn that Jack's father had died and he was taking his casket home to bury him when the plane crashed. They found the casket in the wreckage but the body in the sealed casket was gone. Another mystery. I think it might have been the same episode where we see Jack chasing after a mystery man (we're not sure if he's really seeing him or if he's delusional). When Jack finally catches up with the man in the woods we see that it's his father . . . yet another mystery.

JJ, I think Jack has had two episodes already because he's the attractive and likable hero. I can't recall . . . have the brother and sister (asthma chick) had an episode yet? I know the father and young son and the curly haired heavyset guy haven't. I was so creeped out by last week's episode with the discovery of "Ethan" and this week's episode showing Charlie's hanging. I think this show is a little too intense to be in an 8:00 pm timeslot.

Lisa, yes the tweezers are obviously important . . . but don't forget your make-up, razor for that constant buzz cut and trimmed beard, and laundry detergent to keep those clothes clean all the time.

Jack has had two episodes because he is HOT plain and simple ratings issue there! Also he is billed as the main character ...

Also, they were showing the girl his dad operated on to explain his obsession with saving the pregnant girl on the island ... because the girl his dad operated on and killed was pregnant, and he didnt know that until the hearing about the operation. Once he heard that he turned on his dad and testified.

I saw "Jack" interviewed a couple of weeks ago and he also was joking about the revolving story line. I think originally they werent expecting it to be so popular and thought it would be cut so he jokingly was talking about the first few episodes of story line that have just been dropped. Like the monster in the woods, or the ghost of his father, or the english understanding but not speaking Korean woman. Also, I think, one of the actresses is his wife in real life ...

With that show you just never know ... nothing like bringing back the dead by screaming at them and pounding on their chest for 5 minutes

Ethan is a guy that the airplane people had regularly interacted with and noone realized that he WASNT from the plane.

However, now he has kidnapped Pregnant Girl and That Other Cute Guy and tried to kill TOCG by hanging him. Thus the miraculous recovery by pounding on TOCG's chest and he lived. Ethan and "others" (possibly french woman) have kidnapped Pregnant Girl for unknown reasons ... also, she had reported that "Someone" (Ethan???) had tried to stick her belly with a needle during the night on another episode...

No, Ethan is a total random character. I think(?) the first time we saw him was last week when Curly Hair Heavyset Guy was matching up the names on the plane roster with those on the island. CHHG realized there was no Ethan listed on the plane manifest, hence they found out he was already on the island and wasn't part of the group. He had managed to blend in with the other folks. The Blond Bearded Guy (who I think is cute too) was on the plane with them, and in flashback scenes we know that he was a grifter and thief who had a troubled childhood. The BBG has hoarded supplies, food, etc., from the others. and he was tortured by Syid (sp?) (also a cutie) because they believed he was hoarding the asthma medicine for asthma chick.

Isn't one theory that Ethan is "french woman's" son?

Also, someone on the radio has a theory that they are all dead already. I don't buy that one...

Pregnant Girl

Her story was interesting I thought. It took a very doomsdayish tone in reference to adoption though. As an AMom, I'm not quite sure I appreciated that much.

Ah darn it! I've never seen this show, and now my curiousity is piqued, but at this rate, it will take forever to catch up!

Sleepydream, I agree with you, that scene with the paparents and the attorney was a little overboard. Talk about pressure!

mimc, next week they are showing the first two hours of the show and then someone told me they would be showing other repeats so people can get caught up. They might not be showing any new shows until after the holidays so you might have a chance to catch up.

OK, wait. I missed the Japanese lady and the twizzers thing. Could someone please fill me in?
Kelli, I don't think the brother and sister have had an episode, yet. I did miss one episode, so I might be wrong.
Now, did anyone else catch this. Remember the woman on the island who had been there for years? She had to kill the others off from her crash because of some kind of disease? Then, one of the current survivors made a comment on how his rash was getting bigger? I wonder if this could be one and the same.

"Lost"

I don't think you have to worry about packing tweezers because you have everyone else's luggage to rummage through until you find what you need. I was thinking that about Kate, too. She's pretty well tweezed.

What happened to the African American lady (that Jack did CPR on) who was sitting on the beach by herself zoning out? Is she around?

Did you not think the sound of Jack pounding on Charlie's chest for 5 minutes was totally gross? I didn't think I could watch it much longer. ( I used to work in trauma in an ER, although not as a medical person, and it grossed me out.) I am glad Charlie woke up, though.

We're totally addicted to this show. I'm glad you mentioned about the dropping of the monster storyline. I wondered what was happening with that.

I have heard that they are all trying to reconcile their pasts on this island. It's all very interesting.

BTW, I think the heavyset guy's name is Hurly.

Very fun topic -- intense show.

Any of you watch the West Wing?

Amy
