December and January adoptions!
I have noticed that there are a few of us waiting the arrival of little ones to be so I thought that I would start this thread for those of us (and whoever else wants to) matched and due in the next month or two!
Our pbmommy is due in a few weeks here and just in the last few days I have been thinking non-stop about everything....excitement, scared to death, worried about the travel and a million and one other emotions. We have had 2 failed placements in the last year and so this time, although it feels REALLY positive, I am quite anxious about the possibility of another failed match. How is everyone else doing????? Tara

Tara,
I know how hard the waiting part is. I've been through it before, along with having a failed adoption. As many will tell you, when the baby that is meant to be yours comes along, it will happen. At least for me, after our failed adoption, once our 3rd baby came to us, I was so glad the adoption failed as if it didn't, I would have had this child in my life. Fingers crossed for you! JJ |

JJ,
I agree totally with you about the aftermath of never wanting it to be any other way but being our third, I am really hoping and praying that this is the one. I don't know if I can handle another failed adoption! This past year has been full of many ups and downs and we are on our last attempt of the year to add some forever joy into our family! Our first failed match was almost exactly 1 year ago. Anyone else doing the countdown?????

Yes, we are. We also had a heartbreaking failed adoption in February, and so we are a little "gun-shy" as we await the results of this match. We are hoping so very much that all goes through, but holding back a little as we know that nothing is sure until it actually happens.
That said, we hope to be welcoming a baby boy into our arms, on or around January 11, 2005!

fingers crossed
Hi, so crushing to read of the failed adoptions. We are green around the ears and waiting for a baby boy due around January 15th. Trying to not put all the eggs in one basket and be cool calm and collected.
It's been a dreadful year, my lovely father died seven weeks ago (still cannot believe it), my brother died in the summer.... He was ill for a long time, but still beyond sad and too young. At least I know more than I ever knew that one really has no control whatsoever. It's in God's hands, if it's right, so be it. If not, it will happen later. Yeah, see me, I seem all stoic. I am sure that I will be very disappointed if it fails. Anyway, we're all in the same boat, huge wishes of good luck and perfect babies to you. Poulla |

We're waiting. Baby is due in a little over a week and a half. This is our first attempt at adoption and the bmom has been WONDERFUL thus far! We're nervous about the possibility that she'll change her mind in the end and trying to protect our hearts but it's hard. So far she seems very determined to go through with her adoption plan, but one never knows what will happen after the baby is born. We're praying for the best. The waiting and the unknown is hard.

DH and I are waiting on a boy due January 7th, but PBirthmom could be induce early because she is on bed rest for high blood pressure. So it could be a Christmas birth. I'll find out more on Friday when I take her to her doctors appt.
The holidays are keeping us busy, we don't have a free weekend this month. But it's still hard!!!!! Ruth Mom to Princess Savanna thru adoption 07/27/00 Waiting for #2 since 08/06/03 One failed match Currently matched - It's a boy due 01/07/05 |

Not quite in the Dec-jan group but eagerly awaiting our pbmother to deliver around Feb. 11. This is our first adoption and so far our pbmother seems really committed to the adoption and supposedly "loves us". We're still terrified of the "what ifs" and are hoping everything goes well. I just wish we could fast forward through time.
best of luck to everyone! -S

Are they all due with boys???
Hi Everyone,
Our pbmom is also due in February (February 22nd) and we are eagerly but nervously awaiting her due date. She has already placed one baby so we are fairly confident all will go smoothly, but the waiting is still hard. At least we have the holidays and our dd to keep us busy! I did notice something as I read this thread, though. Are all the pbmoms expecting boys??? Every baby born within a year of dd on our street was a girl. Now it looks like we are beginning the year of the boys. Good Luck to everyone as we wait!

It seems to be all boys hey??? It is so funny how that works. I was just talking with my sis in law last night who is a nurse at our local hospital and she said it always seems to be ALL boys or all girls. For the last month, the babies have mostly all been boys. 2 of our close friends have just had boys too so for us, a boy will fit right in!
I am off to work today (part time teacher) and I am so ready to be just done and off for the next year with our little boy! I can't wait to be able to just be home with our dd and our little Jaxon. Going to work right now seems harder than ever as the time gets closer. Only one more week though until Christmas holidays so I think I can do it! Ruth, how are you making out in these last days? Our pbmom has been getting a lot of pains lately but still has 3 weeks before her due date. I hope for her sake that the pain starts to subside or that she goes in early. That will just make the next coming weeks even harder for her to get through. Take care, Tara

Waiting is soooo hard
We just found out that we may be in the same boat as you all. We have a pbmother who is interested in us and we will find out on Monday if she is going to choose us.
The thing is she is due on Christmas. Wow, my poor dh is still in shock. With any luck we will have an extra blessing this year. Good luck to you all. Lisa |

Prayers being sent to all of you. As exciting of a time as this is, it's also a scary time as there is always the possibility that the potential Birthmother could change her mind and of course, has the right to do so.
However, it seems that most matches do go through, so hopefully, all of you will have your babies home before you know it. :-) JJ |

Since we just got "the" call and we are traveling to pick up our daughter on Tuesday/Wednesday, I guess I fall in this group. How cool! I feel like I'm part of a secret society. Lots of prayers coming at each of you.

Congrats Chaplainswife (sorry I don't know your other name!) on your recent quick match! How exciting!
I am now finding myself doing the daily countdown and it is now less than 3 weeks till due date! Our friends came over last night with their 3 week old and I was in baby heaven! I couldn't feed him because he is breastfed but everything else, I got to do! I felt like a little kid again, practicing all the newborn parenting things. DD is only 2 1/2 but I almost forget the newborn stage! I had so much fun and he was so good. Can't wait until it is really my turn again! I should be getting pictures of C and her dd next week. Can't wait to see them.

We just found out that pbmom thinks the baby may have dropped, and that she went three weeks early last time! This may happen sooner than we expected!
