Adopting Nephew
My nephew was born 15months ago with a disability of Down Syndrome to my brother and sister in law. My husband and I have been taking care of my newphew since he was born. Both of his parents live in Mexico. I only have a notarized letter stating that I am the person designated to care for him.
My question is: Is there a process that I may take to adopt my nephew? My other concern is once he starts school, will I be able to register him for school and any other services he is entitled to? If anyone call please help.
