Trouble with Social Worker and Homestudy
Well we were told a month and a half ago by the social worker that our homestudy was done and to get looking for a child. Well we have called lots of times and she does not return calls ever. Well hubby finally got a hold of her and she was pretty rude this time and told him "he just does not understand a social workers job and how this works". She told us two weeks ago it was done but just needed typed. She told us when we had our in home visit 1 1/2 months ago that is was basically done and if we needed it fast(if I saw a child I wanted to put in for)she could whip it us fast. Well I am beginning to think it is never going to get done. I also found out that my references just got the paperwork in the mail. My friend told me. So is it not "just needing typed" like our worker said? I am SO sick of waiting and being lied to but dont want her mad at us either. I mean we started this whole thing about 6 months ago and already had basically everything done then because she was able to use our foster homestudy/physicals and we just had a little me written work that we turned in right away. I have never been so frustrated. Advice?

roomformore,
You definitely need to contact your Social Worker's Supervisor. It has nothing to do with making her mad or anything like that. The Supervisor may have no idea that there is a problem if you don't report it. I strongly encourage you to contact the supervisor by phone and/or email to report the problem. Take care and good luck, Cricket

I will try to contact her superviser I guess but I just don't want to get her upset at us. I mean she could possibly come across a possible match for us. We are using a private agency that I think mostly just does foster care-we are foster parents thru them. I am sure she is very busy but we have waited so long. I think she usually just does homestudies for kids that they have placed and the foster parents are adopting them so there probably is no hurry in that case. I mean she told us two months ago to start looking for a child. I am so ready for this to be done!
