It's Official!!
I have found so much comfort and guidance from these boards that I have to share the good news.....the official papers arrived today and our wonderful boy is now legally ours! It's hard to believe that we are finally free of paperwork, lawyers, court dates, and social workers (well, at least until the next one!
I didn't think it would be such a big deal to get the papers, but I started having little butterflies in my stomach to see the legal writings of him having all the rights and privileges as a child born to us and seeing his last name officially changed. I wonder how long my silly grin will last? Yea, yea, yea! |

I too am waiting for finalization. It seems as if we have been waiting a long time. 10 months. Can't wait for that court date so I wont' hear any other dr. or official type person call him by his birth name again.

YIPPEEEE! Congratulations. I KNOW the feelings you are talking about. It took us almost 2 years to finalize our first adopiton...long story... I started crying when we were in court and the judge said something like, "I find it in the best interest of this child to continue with this placement, etc." I must have looked like a fool just sobbing and sobbing. I held it together better for the second one, which was two months later with the same judge. LOL!
Again, Congrats. Christa |

I am so happy for you! Finalization is one of the best goals reached. How long did it take to get placed with your child? How long are you going to wait for the next one? I agree seeing your child's new official name on paperwork is such a good feeling. I wish you the best.

TRIPLE YEAH!!! I know the feeling very well. Ours happened x3 2 weeks ago and I am still a grinning fool in love
If you are anything like me, it will hit you in waves. I was at the store and just looked at them and couldn't believe that it was done andstarted hugging and kissing my babies, one by one and I still cannot get over the fact that they are ours, 100%%. Enjoy the moments and the 'waves'!! |
