I have been really worried about whats going to happen to my grandbaby girl Ilana.When she was 5 mos old she was in a housefire that was caused by her daddy's step father ,he feel asleep cooking and he was drunk.Ilana was in bed with her other grandma sleeping.When the drunk woke up (sorry but he is a drunk)instead of waking up Ilana and grandma he tried to put out the fire himself and the fire consummed him.The family dog they had forever was barking like crazy and a neighbor heard the dog and went to see what was up and saw the trailor on fire so he was banging on the door to try and wake someone but couldnt.The neighbor called 911 and by the time they got there the dog was dead but the fire dept got there intime to rescue everyone they got the stepfather out first then the grandma when they cpr the grandma she said the baby the baby and they went back in for my sweet Ilana they were all cpr 3 times on the way to the hospital and on life support for a month.The grandparents recovered except for some lung damage.My granddaughter was suppose to die after they took her off life support but she didnt she survived and she came home with me Jun 17 2003, on all kind of meds and it was awful to see a 5 mo go thru so much pain it was devasting she was on a feeding tube also because she couldnt remember how to suck or eat.I hated that thing with a passion,well I got her off all meds and off her feeding tube.I had to quit my job to stay home and take care of her I went from 42,000 a year to 376.00 ssi.I am so overwhelmed with all the stress and worry about what is going to happen to her if something happens to me.Thank God I have a bf who is retired firefighter that has been wonderful he is her papa.It has put a strain on r life as well as our relationship but we love each other and we love her,I am so scared for her and the life that awaits her,they say baby's like her dont live long ,but hey they said she would die and didnt,God has been my faith all along he is the boss not the dr's he says who comes and goes,and if it wasnt for him I dont know what I would do he is my co-pilot for sure.I dont let Ilana go to her grandmothers house because she is still married to this man and I am scared he will finish her off but at the same time I feel sorry for her.I take her to her dads to visit and they allgo to his house.I hate she has been cheated of her life she was born a normal baby til this accident .What am I going to do?I must never leave this baby's life never

I have full custody of my granddaughter until I see fit to give custody back to the parents ,which will probably never happen my daughter is on drugs and her daddy is raising another womens children 2 and 3 yr old.All the good care I have given her would only be a step down from what she is use to.She gets the best care and love ever from me her grandma
