We have an international homestudy, what will need to change for a domestic homestudy
We are adopting from Guatemala and we are also interested in adopting domestically. What on our international study will need to be changed or what needs to be added? Thank you in advance!

Oftentimes, international homestudies are more detailed than what is required for your state.
My best advice is to talk with your agency and/or attorney, though I'd go in with the expectation that nothing needs to be added. HTH Regina

We did an international homestudy and are also seeking domestic adoption as well. For the domestic adoption route we had to have an addendum added to the original homestudy giving approval for a domestic infant.
Check the wording on your international homestudy. If it was written like ours, it will state approval for a Guatemalan infant/child. This has to be changed or an addendum added to include approval for a domestic baby. Hope that helps. dg |
