When we were looking into infant domestic adoption we were told the same thing. You just do not know what the birthmom will be looking for, and really, there is not much you can do about it one way or another. Some bmoms who want an open adoption look for a couple who have had an open adoption in the past. We were a possible match for a bmom, but she decided she wanted her baby to be an only child, as she had been. ????

I know it's hard to hear, but when you are holding the right child in your arms, you will be glad for the wait.
