Any day time now???? getting excited... (and scared :o)
Ok.. we have been matched with an expectant mom that originally thought she was due the end of June (first ultrasound they thought she was 17 weeks gave that due date)..
then she remembered the day of her last period and came up with a due date od beginning of August.. Have ultrasound a week ago and they thought maybe mid July.. Then.. last night I get email from "J".. she said that she is "officially dropping" and thinks that means maybe 3 weeks or so.. so.. looks like really anytime between now and Aug we will be celebrating this brith... )buy boy, talk about nervous.. I know that babies come when they want.. but thei big of a range is just hysterical to me... )Anyway.. just thoguht I would share.. she is nervous (about giving birth and me not making out in time).. I am nervous about the whole thing.. but also very excited... )Ok.. gotta get some work done and get my FMLA paperwork in .. Mandy |

Mandy - Such an exciting time! I so understand the feelings you are going thru...I remember when we were first told about our potential bmom they told us end of January / beginning of February was the due date - but she had a feeling it would be any day (this was mid Dec). Then two weeks later we met for the first time and she felt it would be about a week or so...two days later our daughter was born!!!
Best of luck and keep us posted! **I hope you do make it on time for the delivery - it is such an awesome experience for all involved.

Congratulations on your match. It is weird though isnt it. We are just starting our home study and I am thinking like, I could be a parent before the end of the year, or I could be a parent next year I dont even know! It's like my life is going to be at a stand still with the nervous expectations! To be on the safe side we arent planning any trips or any thing new. We will be going on a Cruise at the end of thise month but after that we are not traveling for Christmas or Thanksgiving we'll just be nesting from July UNTIL!!
Good Luck!

Our son's birthmother's first due date was mid-January, then she had an ultrasound and it was changed to early February. When she told us, I nearly dropped over. Not that 2 weeks is such a big deal, but when the waiting is almost unbearable....2 weeks seems like a lifetime. Every time we saw her she seemed sure that "it's going to happen soon". After she had to be induced, she said,"I guess I was wrong all those times.....but I also thought he was girl girl until the US"
Just try and enjoy your last moments of time together alone....go out for a few nice dinners (won't be seeing those again anytime soon!), maybe even a nearby overnight. After we completed the initial paperwork, we, too, were scared to go anywhere too far away or make any big plans. But we did plan some close weekend getaways and always made sure our social worker knew where we would be and when. And we always checked the cancellation policy! ![]() |
