Hi
that is exciting and yes, she is big! both of mine were 2 months before they got to that size! Were these hospital pictures? I never thought to ask about those before for my 2. I wonder if they were taken or not. Is that a standard kind of thing or something that is requested? K |

LOL
YES SHE IS A BIG BABY. SHE IS NOW 6 MO 17PDS, 26INC LONG. YES THESE ARE HER HOSPITAL PICS. WHEN SHE CAME HOME AT 2 WKS ALL HER PAPER WORK CAME WITH HER. [AN OVERSITE I THINK]. ANYWAY ONE OF THE PAPERS WERE FROM 1ST FOTO WITH THE ID# ONE IT ALONG WITH ** INFO. I CALLED 1ST FOTO WITH INFO AND ASKED IF THEY WERE STILL AVAILABLE, AND TO MY SURPRISE THEY WERE. I HAD TO HAVE CW SEND THEM A LETTER ON LETTERHEAD GIVING THEM PERMISSON TO RELEASE THEM TO ME. I'M NOT SURE IF IT'S STANDARD PROCEDURE OR NOT, BUT HERE IN TN, WHEN YOU HAVE A BABY THE 2ND DAY A REP FROM 1ST FOTO COMES AND ASK S IF YOU WOULD LIKE BABYS' PIC TAKEN. SHE DID BUT NEVER TURNED IN HER PAPER WORK. THATS HOW I GOT IT. I ALSO RECIEVED SOME MORE PERSONAL PAPER WORK [ANOTHER OVERSITE I'M SURE] THAT I HAVE PUT IN A TREASURE BOX FOR DD. I WILL GIVE THEM TO HER WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT, AS WELL AS SUPPORT HER IN ANY DECISIONS SHE CHOOSES TO MAKE. ![]() |

I wanted Alex to have everything any other baby would have had, which included hospital pictures. Also, it was very important for me to get them since we were not allowed at the hospital. It is my only connection to those first two days of her life. Ok maybe I'm neurotic, but it was sooooo important for me to get my hands on those hospital pictures.
Punchkin- Congrats on your new daughter and her beautiful pics! Sounds like these oversights are pretty typical. That is exactly how it happened in our case too. Birthmom filled out the paper and must have given a copy to the agency which was (inadvertantly) found in a bunch of papers sent home with us.

How Wonderful for you to have those pictures, I was also given the information from by son's birthmom when we met at the hospital. I was so excited, it was also from First Foto, however when i contacted them, they had not taken his picture because he was in NICU. I was so disappointed, but I do have pictures from the first day that I arrived.

That is so cool - that she will have hospital pictures!!!
I am envious - the earilest pic I have of me is at 16 months old. (The first pic that they sent my Mom) I wish I had other pics. Once in high school, it became quite awkward. They had a 'contest'. Everyone was supposed to bring in a baby pic (1 year and under) of themselves, and the kid who identified the most classmates won something or other. I was very upset - not at my Mom for not having a pic, but at the school. I brought in the 16month picture, but I hated it. Mine was the oldest pic (obviously) I stayed home 'sick' the day of the contest. (My mom understood) It makes me happy that these children will have the pictures. Mary |

Thanks punchkin
It's funny - I am 36, but that one still hurts. And no one did it to get me upset - it was just a game.
I think pictures do help give a child a foundation. ok - that didn't come out right, but I think you get the idea. Mary |

Pictures can be so very important! When we were waiting for my son to be born, a fellow teacher told me that she wished she had a picture of her birth mom. It was with that info in mind that I took a picture of our son with his birth parents in the hospital (with their permission, of course). We were blessed to be able to be at the hospital for our son's birth and I got to be in the room (dh was asked to leave just minutes before the birth). I didn't even think about getting the nursery photos...but I sure burned up our digital camera getting my own photos! There were some oversights with us, too - the hospital id tags were left on me and my son (which includes the birth mom's name). We've put these in a special place for him when he gets older.
The only thing I didn't get was the paper that included his first footprints - but I did sneak a picture of the footprints (all I really wanted) while it was laying on the counter next to me. ![]() |

But I managed to get in touch w/one of his fostermoms (great ladies i just feel bad that the little guy had so many (5)), anyway she gave my info to the first foster mom and she has tons of newborn pictures! she emailed some and is mailing them as well, its like CHRISTMAS! Im so happy I can give him this priceless treasure, okay I wanted them for myself as well
