Poll: Who is waiting?
I realize that this forum represents individuals in all phases of adoption. As someone "in waiting," I was wondering if others in this particular phase would care to introduce themselves?
Here's mine: Who? Stephanie What? Adoptive mom to two little girls, anxiously awaiting our third child When? Waiting with one agency since April 2003, with facilitator since December 2003, and networking with three other agencies since early 2004 Where? Michigan Why? Still feel like our family is not yet complete!

Waiting to become a mama all of my adulthood (and some of my childhood, to be honest), but have been actively pursuing the adoption process since last August. (See sig) Where? Ohio Why? See "when"...the NEED to become a mama has not been fulfilled in any way. And hubby feels the same way about becoming a dad.

Who?
Brandy What? I dunno, you asked me so I'm telling ya. (not enough coffee in blood stream).....Oh wait, what was the question? Oh yes....waiting for a child to fill the room I have set up and to share the love I have in storage. Also have a 7 year old wanting to know where his brohter is I promised him 5 years ago. When? Started this journey about 6 months ago and got everything done in one month. Now waiting for homestudy then POOF....I wait some more Why? Hubby worked with chemicals and it...well you get the picture....I have endo, PCO and no menstrual period. Which I really don't mind so much.... I want to lay in bed at night and hear them both breathing and know they will be there to pull my eyelids open in the morning and ask "can we have cookies for breakfast?" |

Just wanted to let you guys know that there is a thread here called "Why aren't there any buddy groups" or something along those lines where a group of waiting moms-to-be are encouraging and supporting each other and just gabbing about various things from infertility to crock pot cooking.
![]() Go check them out and join in if you want! Judy Last edited by amom4life : 05-01-2004 at 12:22 PM. |

I'm enjoying getting to know you all! I'm going to check out the thread that Judy suggested, also. It definitely helps to know that we can experience "the wait" together!

I was just sitting here thinking to myself, "how long are we going to have to wait for THE CALL?" So I decided to see what was going on here at the site and lo and behold was this thread!! What timing!
I'm Theresa, DH and I are in Georgia. We're just waiting on the fingerprints to come back and then we're homestudy ready. We're working with two different agencies. We're being shown to an E-birthmom now. We started all of this in Feb. and it has gone smoothly and much quicker than I expected. |

Welcome, Cindy, Jennifer and Theresa. Isn't it interesting how our experiences can be so different, but adoption brings us all together? I am so looking forward to hearing soon about matches taking place with all of us here. I look forward to getting to know you better!
