Hi Everyone
My husband and I are recently started the adoption process and I am amazed at how many people are going through the same experiences as we are. We live in Ontario, Canada and are looking to adopt from our native Sri Lanka. We are still in the home study phase but are looking for support and information from anyone else. And I would like to be the same support and listening ear to anyone who needs me too! We arrived at the decision to adopt after rigorous infertility testing, so we have just come through an emotional roller coaster. We are so happy that we have decided to adopt and our family and friends have been so supportive. It is definitetely an experience and I am looking forward to the day when a new little one makes us a family. Looking forward to hearing from you! |

Hi and welcome to the boards! This is a great place for support, friendship, advice, laughs, tears, and everything else.
My husband and I just adopted a little baby girl. She is now one month old. We started the adoption process in June of 2003 and less than a year later we have a healthy (though colic-y) daughter. Good luck to you in your travels...it can be a bumpy road but worth every minute. T

Thanks so much for your words of inspiration! Especially the bible verse. Yes, we believe this is God's plan for us and he will choose our little one. Wow, your process didnt take that long. Which province/state do you reside and which country did you adopt from? I am hoping and praying ours will be as speedy as your process. We are simply impatient until the little one joins us!

Welcome!
I always say that time passes, whether you want it to or not. So if the only thing between you and your goal is time, you have nothing to worry about. Some days that's easier to believe than others. Xanny
