Home Study in Southern CA

Well we are here in San Diego and yesterday got our big home study packet. One of the pages has Environmental Safety checklist. It mentions all the sockets being covered, stairway safe etc. Our little guy is only 6 weeks old so we were planning on doing some of these things in stages (money is tight right now after paying 2950 for the home study and finding out it will cost an additional 100 bucks to get fingerprinted...what exactly does the 3 grand cover?) anyway, back to my question...do all the things ont he checklist have to be done when she comes in April for the home study or will she understand that we will take care of the stairway when he is walking/crawling??? Help...any advice??

Molly

Molly-

I am also in San Diego and just had the social worker out last week. We already have an approved homestudy through hope for kids in OC. (we adopted out of state so it was required) At the time of that one we had NOTHING done!

You can do it in stages. All we had was the outlet plugs and a couple closures for the kitchen cabinents. (they were not even on them though) As long as you have a couple things done and explain that you are doing it in stages you should be fine. The outlet plugs and safety stuff is cheap at Target and is always going on sale!

Good luck!

Mindy

BTW Mia will be 3 months old next week so obviously she cannot get into anything yet!

Also I have a ton of extra outlet plugs. If you want to PM me your address I can mail them to you. Honestly I just do not need them and they are sitting in the closet!
