hi this is my first, well my second visit here to adoption forums. my husband and i are adoptive parents of four and have been foster parents of 24. maybe someone could explain how this site works. anyway you all have a great day. any info would be helpful.....................thanks................ .....maejo.......................

Mostly, this is a pretty open site without too many rules. Try not to be mean or rude, and you should be okay. Read whatever interests you, respond where you feel you have something to add to the conversation. If you want a closer connection with someone or have something to say that you don't want everyone to see, you can PM (private message) them, which is kind of like e-mail.

welcome...this is a great site, glad you found us.

for me, i just played around with the site for a while till i figured out how things worked.

what i do, is i hit the 'new messages' button and check out all the new posts.

or you can hit option, and it will bring you directly to the posts that you either responded too, or started.

if you came in, in the middle of someones thread, you can go to 'members' and look at previous posts from them to catch up...its sometimes easier then asking them to explain everything again....lol.

hmmmm...let me see...what else.

anyway, one the reasons this forum is great, is because its much easier to figure out and keep up then others, and plus the people here are ALL WONDERFUL.

another great thing, is that people from all areas of adoption come together, from birthfamlies, adoptive parents, adoptees...etc.

its a wonderful experience. just keep coming, the support is great!!!!!!!

oh one more thing, you can pick what section you are in, like i go to 'special needs'. Thats where you will find adoptive parents with kids with special needs. You can look at all the old posts also.

when i first joined, thats what i did, just read and read and learned. you will find that no ones issues are that unique, people have either did that, done that, or might be experiencing what you are going through also at the same time.

there are few times where a post comes about and people are like "huh?"....but its rare....lol

anyway, i can be long winded at times.....lol....(but im not the only one).....lol.....anyway welcome.....and congrats on your adoption

HI. It is great to have you join this wonderful group. I havent been a member very long but love getting all the info from everyone. Just an FYI dont us the initails b m for birthmom it is offensive to the birthparents. I havent made that mistake but have read many who have just an FYI. Glad to have you here and look forward to you experiences (seems like you have many)

Well never here at adoptin forums and only if someone were mean and rude to me. lol But thank you. And yes ccwasson I'm glad I found a place I can be comfortable with people with whom I can share and have shared with me same situations. And also to learn of other experiences. Support2Adopt I read the terms of service. dadfor2 I was looking for this other place I had introduced myself but couldn't remember where it was. Your other reply I received also. It took time but I found this. jewelewis i will never use bmom but did notice in chat it was used alot. o.k. everyone have a busy weekend coming up with birthdays. will get back on monday. have a great weekend. ............................maejo................. .....
