Birthdays and what to expect
Hi all,
We are approaching our son's birthday.. and reading the many books and info out there we are expecting some emotions, feelings, possible negative situations.... Any comments or feedback on how we should be prepared and react to this would be greatly appreciated! New Mom to 2 and love it!!!!! |

How old is your son? Was he just adopted? Will any members of the bfamily be involved?

If your child was adopted as an older child, follow his lead. I just adopted siblings, ages 5. 8 & 11. I asked them if they wanted to light a candle for their bmother on their birthday, simply because she gave birth to them. None of them wanted to. The middle one said yes at first, then changed her mind.

ddhuab...
He is turning 9 in 2 weeks. We decided that since this year was special we were going to have small family b-parties for him and his brother. Invite Families and neighborhood friends. He wasn't too happy with that he was hoping for a party at local Chuck E Cheese's. He has been very argumentive, defiant and coming up with his own rules... there is alot more to his back ground.. but he has been talking about his b-day so I wasn't sure if this behavior was b/c of the approaching date... |
