Oh my...

I settled down in front of my TV w/a box of organic crackers and cherry juice, thinking I'd watch the Grammy's, and surf the forums on my laptop. You know, sit back and relax after a long day.

But oh my!

I hope everybody's OK out there. Rough nights like these can bind us together or tear us apart. My hope is for the former.

Take care all!

Brat

Nicky,
I dont know about the grammy's but the forums got a bit heated yesterday from what I read.

That is what I was commenting on and thought that was what Brat was referring to as well.

Brat,

Where do you buy cherry juice? I've never heard of it, but it sounds good!

OK...I for *sure* was not trying to recap that discussion here. I was just making a statement referring to my enjoyment of the Grammy's contrasted to my chagrin w/the thread. Like T, I was relieved not to be in the thick of it. For once.

So...let's talk about food and the Grammy's!

In a nutshell, Beyonce won five R&B Grammy's, and other folks whose talents I also appreciate--Justin, Christina, Luther and Outkkast--got their due so I was happy as a clam, as I munched away! The musical productions were amazing as well. It was a very good show.

You can get cherry juice at Trader Joe's. It's yummy! They have a cherry cider, and a morello cherry reserve. Our supermarkets are on strike out here, so I'm gaining a new appreciation for TJ's.

Hi Brat, I am game.

Okay first, can you believe that the strike continues after four months? We have always shopped at Whole Foods but now have to go there just to get bread and milk. I hate that.

I did not watch most of the grammy's. I really liked the Black Eyed Peas performance and loved the Alicia Keyes performance; although there was really a problem with the audio feed. I was happy to see Luther get recognition along with Richard Marx. I also loved the Robert Robertson? band of funk with the slide guitar and the Foo Fighters. I feel so old, because I was outta the loop on some of the performances.

I hope that you are doing well and hanging in there. Talk to you soon.

LMAO ~ I so identify with that statement!!!

As for the grocery strike, I think it's absolutely absurd. I had no idea that anyone still got totally free health insurance until this started. I've always had to contribute to mine and it goes up every year. My company also comes up with a new commission plan every year and it's NEVER to the benefit of the employee. The solution is pretty simple ~ if you don't like the benefits and pay ~ go get another job. Times change, the economy changes ~ there is no reason to make it the problem of others. I've always shopped at Trader Joe's and Stator Brothers. Now Stator Brothers is so crowded I've crossed the picket line. They say something to me and I tell them what I pay for health insurance ~ heck of a lot more than $20.00!

I'm sorry you all are suffering from the grocery strike, but at least you HAVE a Trader Joe's to shop at! And at least you live in California where there is not four inches of ice caked to your back patio, and icesicles that just keep dripping and adding to the ice on the patio.

Ahhh, Wisconsin....

Grocery strike? Guess I am totally out of the loop on that.

We are covered under tons of snow. We have a cement bird bath in the back yard or should I saw we had one....we believe it is buried under all that snow. It is rediculous! I thought we left all the snow in Alaska!

I don't know about ya'll but I cannot deal with the awards shows. Seems like every time I turn the TV on they are all giving each other awards for this reason and that reason. I think sometimes they just make up awards! I mean what other "profession" gives and gets that many awards?? Feeding big egos is what it looks like to me. I know the Grammy's have been around for a long time...I am just saying I *hate* award shows!

Well I can't really stand the outfits and behaviors of the musicians these days either but hey thats a whole other story....geez I sound so negative tonight! LOL sorry!

T

PS>
I want some cherry juice!!! Never heard of Trader Joe's so I am guessing I am outta luck.
