Talking Had our 1st meeting with our soon to be adopted daughter

Hello All,
Just wanted to update you. We met with our soon to be adopted daughter Friday and she's wonderful. As you may recall from earlier posts she's 11. What an awesome child. She's bright, articulate and funny. Cute as a button. We all got along really well and only the initial handshake was awkward.

Also, to let you know...our little gift was a great big hit. We had a pretty gift bag with shower gel, a card, a special pen (with an attached butterfly with boa feather wings) and a snuggly teddy bear. We waited until our visit was over and we were all out at the car. We had her help us get some things for her case worker out of our car and made sure she got " her bag". Thanks to all who responded to our earlier post with suggestions - it helped immensely. I had gone to the Mall and I was clueless! OMG, talk about being out of ones element.

Spoke with her Foster Mom the next day and she was still just as excited about our meeting as we were. Received a lot of good feedback from the FosterMom and look forward to a good relationship with her as well. She's a jewel.

We will see "our daughter" again on Tuesday and we will introduce her to our son. And we will also take her to a special function next Saturday. God is truly blessing us and " we're on our way".

All the best & God Bless you all in your journeys

How wonderful that it went well. It makes me smile to think of this 11 year old girl finally having a family to call her very own. Hope it continues to go well and you have her home soon!

Good thoughts are with you!

How cool that she was just as excited about your meeting as you were! Good luck with the meeting between her and your son.

Talking Thank you all for your support

We talked with the caseworker today and she confirmed our daughter enjoyed us and liked us. I'll let you all know how it goes after our meeting tomorrow.
Thanks for all your support.

Talking 2nd visit - 1st at our house

Hello All,
Well yesterday afternoon's get together at the house went real well. She and her caseworker visited with us for over 2 hours, we had dinner, chatted and played a short version of 100 questions with all 4 of us going around asking questions. She seemed a little nervous but then again she had lots of attention from the animals that live here. The caseworker is real pleased at how things are progressing
We will see her again this Saturday as she will join us for a small family function...So I'll fill you in Sunday.
All the best and God Bless.

Questions for MOOMOMMY ???

FIRST OF ALL, CONGRATULATIONS !!

We are at the stage of knowing that there are several other families being considered for the same girl that we are, she is 8, and waiting to find out if we are chosen.

If you don't mind me asking, how long was your wait once you were being considered to when you found out you were chosen, to when you had your first meeting with the daughter you are going to adopt?

As I'm sure you know, it's just KILLING ME, it's all I can think about.

Again, congrats!
