Cool Our ivf/surrogacy journey has ended, now we are moving on!....

Our ivf/surrogacy journey has ended, we are officially adopting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi all,

Well, its official!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are going to adopt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell with all my exclamations how excited we are!!!???

Its been a long road to get here, but we feel like a weight has lifted off of us, its amazing!

We always knew i could not carry, and initially was going to adopt, but we had to wait like 3 years of marriage before we could, so we decided to look into surrogacy. It was a great journey, met lots of wonderful women out there, but after 2 years, 2 failed surrogates and 20k in debt, and a quoted 30% chance to have a bio child after a clomid challenge test, we decided just this weekend that its time to move forward.

Move forward to adoption!

I have done a lot of research while i was out due to feet surgery last month, and met with a lot of people to learn as much as i could, before dh came around. Well, he officially did this weekend!

Theres a light at the end of this tunnel!

Knowing that adoption is a definite, as opposed to surrogacy is such a wonderful thing to us!

So, i am soo excited to move from one board to another (here) and going through our new journey with all of you!

Andrea

Andrea,

When we decided enough-is-enough with IVF, etc, and made the decision to adopt, I also felt an enormous weight lift. I swear it was literally a weight gone.

Good luck, Stephanie

Welcome! It's so exciting when you finally decide to start. I was so happy to be doing something that would definitely lead to my becoming a parent.

Then, when I was ready to call the agency to start our homestudy, I needed all my on-line friends to talk me through it. That's what's great about this place, though. Everybody's here for you, in the happy times and the nervous times.

Best wishes for a smooth adoption journey!
