An unexpected Twist...

Hi All,
We got a call from Lifetime today regarding the expectant mother in Texas who was due on Feb. 24th. Someone miscalculated or something because she gave birth to a baby boy today.

We will find out if she chose us tomorrow as well as more details. So it's possible we may be spending Christmas and New Years in Texas. But I'm not getting my hopes up until I hear from them tomorrow.

But...just in case does anyone know a cheap motel that's not too tacky in the Midland or Odessa area? Some place you can pay by the week and that has a kitchenette would be the best.

Thank you!
Judy

I lived in Midland when I was younger...and even tho they call it "Midland Odessa" its still a bit of a drive between the two...so you might want to decide on one or the other.

I was pretty young when I lived there (in a group home no less) so I dont know to much about the city. Just wanted to give ya a little advice

Good luck, I hope everything works out for everyone involved!

A twist? That's what I'd call a cyclone!! Wow!!!!

I'm praying for you and the mom during this time. Lots of big decisions in a short amount of time--if she picks you over the other families, that will be a very good one!

Judy,
What exciting news. The more you think things have calmed down, more excitement seems to come your way. We will be thinking of you and lets hope and pray things go your way.
Let us know what happens,

Tara

PRAISE THE LORD!!

Well everyone it happened again. The expectant mother in Texas chose us. But Lifetime did tell us that her mother and sisters were giving her a very hard trime about her decision.

So I called the expectant mother and I shared our concerns about her family and her being able to cope with their attitudes toward her. Her mother told her not to come home unless she came home with the baby and her 4 sisters were telling her she's stupid and things like that.

She assured me that she knew what she was in for with her family and was strong in her decision. Then about 45 min. later she called Lifetime to tell them she decided to keep the baby.

But...PRAISE THE LORD for His protection over us in this situation!! He protected us both emotionally and financially. We are sooo blessed that she changed her mind before we ended up in Texas.

So...back to the waiting game...
Judy

Oh Judy,

I am so sorry that this was not the baby God has for you.

Thankfully, though, you were spared your heart.

God has something better waiting for you - your perfect situation.

taggrr2 took the words right out of my mouth. Judy, I don't know if you have a spa anywhere near where you live but if you do I strongly advise a day of pampering for yourself. Honey, you deserve it!

Judy...I always find it hard to understand why God brings situations into our lives, only to quickly usher them back out again! We had a couple of "potential" situations come thru our lives and even short-term it was a little disappointing because remaining "distant" when you're talking about family is a joke. The best I could figure is that it gave us a chance to pray for the bfamily and the baby. Praying that your Christmas is joyous and peace-ful, and that the bmother & her family also know this peace.

HI Judy,
I am very sorry to hear the news but like you said, at least it happened before you went there and met the baby. We are wondering our selves what is going on with our bmom. She was due last tuesday but the agency is having a difficult time getting a hold of her. Apperently she is at her moms right now but she still has not contacted anybody so we don't know what she is feeling or if she is even still planning on placing the baby or not.
It is all so hard,
We are thinking of you,

Tara
