Yikes

Has anyone heard of being an Ameriplan Broker?

Please let me know if anyone here has any information on whether or not this is a scam.

Thanks.. and if I decide to do this, I'll let you all know how it goes

I tried doing Mary Kay for a while and realized that if I plan to make any money doing this I would have to do it full time. It does take a lot of time to prepare and do parties and start generating customers. Best of Luck to you.

It is true that direct sales do take time, but much of it can be done at home. I was working full time and still doing it and made good money at it. The nice thing was if I had to bring my daughter I could. She use to be so cute. She was very shy so she would bring books and hide under my display table. It worked out well though.

Excellent Site

I am a sahm and will be homeschooling my 8 year old for the first time this year. We also are pursuing adoption right now and have been matched, but since we are going to be very tight on finances (cause of taxes...YUCK!), I decided to look for a job and someone on one of my homeschooling lists gave me an EXCELLENT website and I have gathered so much information on various home based businesses, and they have a great section on telecommuting jobs that they research and post. They have a section on what to look for in a fraudulent company and just give many ideas and websites for ideas and suggestions for businesses. I actually applied for a telecommuting job and got it, and I found it listed on the website (I am still in training...trying to get it finished up so I can start working!)

I hope you find some ideas and come away with some business ideas...I know dh and I are brainstorming things so that he can quit some of his very part time teaching jobs!!

medical transcription

I am a medical transcriptionist! I work from home for various different ENT doctors. I live in Boise and type for some local doctors and also some doctors in Phoenix. Transcriptionists are in high demand because of the skill that is required with these jobs. You may find it difficult at first to find a lot of work until you get some experience and good schooling.

I went to school at a local tech school. I really suggest finding a program that has a lot of hands-on teaching. The medical terminology can be very confusing. You will find yourself more successful in the business if you have had good training. Many Universities offer medical terminology and transcription programs.

Also, a quick typing speed is essential (our school required a minimum of 50 wpm), as you get paid usually by the line (65 characters). Although, a lot of hospitals will pay you an hourly rate generally starting around $10.50...depending. They also have incentives on top of this rate (based on productivity)This would help with not having a commission only job.

I have been doing medical transcription for three years now...I average around $20 an hour.

Good luck with finding a stay-at-home job! I LOVE being home with my kids and working at the same time...although...it has it's challenges as well! LOL!

Christa
