Smile Update on our adoption

We finalized an adoption on the 16th of April of a sibling set ages 4 and 5 years. We are now in the process of adopting our second set ages 2 and 3 years. We should finalize this month. Four children in 2 months. I asked my friends to top that!!! LOL. Thanks for your time, Good Luck and God Bless.

LOL! I think I just responded to you on another website's board.

Congratulations!

I posted several questions on the other board, if you don't mind answering.

Wink Hello

I posted a response on the Adoption Issues board, but I have also included it here too.

Did you go through a state foster system? Yes

Did you do foster care first for the kids, or was it a straight adoption? We were their Foster Parents

What gender are the kids? 2 girls(2 and 6years) and 2 boys(3 and 4 years) Poor boys they are flanked by the girls, But they will learn how to treat women!!!!!

Any major "issues" to deal with? We have 2 that are behavioral children, but all have Medical and Therapy of one sort or another(Psychiatric, Speech, OT, PT, ect..., But not anything we consider Major

How long have you been waiting to adopt? We began our journey in July 2000

These children are a gift from God and We are so blessed to have them. There are times that I get alittle nervous where finances are concerned but I ususally get over that fairly quickly.

I hope your journey is as great as ours has been. There have been plenty of ups and downs and I'm sure we will experience more as their Parents. Foster care is not for everyone but I am confident that we would still be without children now if we waited for the State to match us!! Good Luck and God Bless
