like to hear from adult adoptees that had an open adoption
hi I am a birthmother who placed my bson in an open adoption about 3 years ago. my boyfriend (the birthfather) and our families visit my bson and his family often.
I wonder in the future how my bson is going to think about all the decisions we made. For example the decision of a fully open adoption and the amount of visits. I wonder if in the future he will look back and wish that we had only visited about once a year instead of many times a year. I wonder if in the future he looks back and thinks of me as selfish and asking for too much from his parents (I always worry that I am asking for too many visits although they constantly tell me that they are happy to have many visits) I hope that he will grow up feeling loved by many and happy with having lots of visits..... I just can't stop from worrying sometimes... For those of you who grew up with an open adoption I would really appreciate if you could you tell me what you really liked about the open adoption and if there were things that you wish were different. Thank you -Ginny |

I was raised in an open adoption...I don't have a time to post right now...so I wanted to just bookmark this thread so I could come back to it later.
