Bi-racial Adoption Information
I'm writing an article for my magazine on problems facing bi-racial children who wish to be adopted in the US and adoption rates. I'm having problems finding informative websites, and I was wondering if any of you knew of some, or wanted to share your personal stories. Thank you in advance for your help.

My husband and I adopted our bi-racial son last year. We are an interracial couple and were matched fairly quickly in comparison to caucasion couples waiting for a baby of the same race. Our fees were drastically lower due to the fact that our son was bi-racial and because of his race ONLY is considered a special needs child (or "hard to place" as our state calls it).
A good website to start out on is www.pactadopt.org. There are not many websites that apply to what you are looking for. It is the hidden taboo subject in the adoption world of why minority children's fees for adoption are less than caucasion children. It is sad but like in all industries it is an issue of "supply and demand". ![]() |
