hi i am a foster mom in the middle of an adoption my 2 yr old daughter pamela has been with us since she was 7months old we had an insadent in are home and they took all are kids including are daughter pamela the one we were in the final stages of adoption we are soooo lost we have no ideal what are rights are can anybody help

i am a new user and not to sure how this works just yet so plz bear with me i need some help with foster parents rights for adopting a foster child we were in the middle of adopting are 2 yr old daughter and we had an insadent in are home and are agency has taken are daughter are cps case workers and everybody else involved wants are daughter back in the home we have no ideal what are rights are

Get an adoption attorney immediately. It's worth the money. Don't wait, start calling attorneys immediately until you talk to one. The initial consultation will likely be free-then you'll know whether you need the attorney to help you get your pre-adoptive daughter back.

We had a similar thing happen to us last month. It is not an easy thing to go through, I sympathize with you!

What kind of incident was it? Is there a chance it is false allegations? For us, the matter was settled in 2 business days and they unsubstantiated all the allegations against me. They didn't take away our bio-children (thankfully) but they temporarily moved our foster kids into respite care for those days.

It was a nightmare. We've never felt so helpless, scared, angry, devastated, hurt, you name it... it was pure torment.

Hang in there. The emotional anguish is miserable! I hope it's resolved soon.

Please tell me you have already talked with an attorney! If not, you must protect your family and your soon to be daughter and get an attorney asap. Do not let CPS, the police or anyone else tell you otherwise. You should not talk to CPS or anyone investigating until you have talked to an attorney.

thank u for ur reply my daughter has an attorney he is sooo slow in the processes he hasn't delt with this situation b4 so hes getting help with my daughters advocate he said he filled a patition to the courts to return her to r home immedeitly butt of course the judge is not in court 2day we have to go thru another weekend not knowing the outcome the cps case worker and everybody involved in the kids life except r agency wants r daughter returned to r home so i'm praying we get her bac next week butt for her to be out of her home for a month already is enough she used to cry for me when i wasn't with her i can't bear to think what she is going thru right now i just want it over for her more than for me i'm sure shes lost and woundering y her mommy hasn't come to get her i'm having such a hard time dealing with this all i'm doing is breathing she dosn't deserve this

So they removed her a month ago?

During our classes the gave us material about foster parent rights. I'm assuming we would have been given similar information if we were to attend the adoption classes. Did you get similar information? Which state are you in, if you don't mind me asking.

We have had r daughter sence she was 7 monts old she is now 2.5 yrs old she is all we know as mommy and daddy shes has never been with anybody but me or my husband mostley me cuz i was a stay at home mom. she is really attached to me she would cry for me constantly .i went on a retreat with my church for a weekend she was with my husband he told me she would wake up and cry for me she even did it sometimes in the middle of the night when im there. we had told are agency the age limit we were looking for was 8yrs old to 12 my husband works from son up to sun down so i can't really handle 6 little ones by myself but this last group of kids was a sibling group of 3 boys 2, 5 and 6yrs old already had my 2yr old daughter and my 9yr old daughter whom we would of adopted as well she had been in 13 foster homes this was her last home she was doing very well. anyway sorry this is not a short story,when my agency called us about these boys we really wasn't sure it was a good ideal but because of r hearts we said ok they came with 1 small kitchen bag of cloths that looked like they came from the attic i asked if they could help w/anything carseat,highchair,ect.... of coarse i got a no.(by the way r agency has a very high turn over w/caseworkers) and the 2yr old came w/ a fracture in his arm and he had clep feet and had speciall shoes but they didn't bring for him no diapers no nothing . we honestly couldn't afford things for the kids but we did the best we could. i also have a 16yr old bio-son who came to live w/me 2yrs ago. we were having alot of deliquet teenage problems out of him and an insadent happened w/him and we had had enough me and my husband made the desicion to take him to go live w/ his father in new mexico. we scheduled it on my husbands vacation from work. right befor we were to go are agency tells us they made a mistake in some over payments over a period of months and they needed the payment back they were taking over a thousand dollars from are account. with that money being taken out plus the money we spent on all 3 boys and hadn't recieved any money for that. plus we have to pay for the trip to new mexico. plus paying for respet we simply couldn't do it and it was very urgent to move my son out the house to make it safe for my kids. we made the descision to have my daughter -n-law come and stay with the 3 boys in our home for 3 or 4 days she was are licenced babysitter but her cpr expired we bought groceries and made sure everything was as easy as possible. the day we were returning home my daughter -n-law got stressed out arguing w/my son she left the kids and left my son at the house w/the boys. unfortually a advicat for the boys came by and one thing lead to another next thing i know 3 workers from are agency are at my house waiting for are arrival so they can take my fdaughters we sa well were destraught and in disbelieve. it's been 1 month and 1 week sence are daughters have been gone we were doing are homestudy that following weekend for are 2yr old daughter we were at the end of are adoption with her . all the caseworkers , and advicates for the girls and are 2yr olds attry wants the girls back home it's only the agency that is doing this. i know we broke a rule but i'm sorry i don't think the punishment fits the crime exspecially for the girls we as adults made a desicion to do what we could with what we had to make are home a better home for are foster kids i wouldn't have done it any diffrently if it was my own kids. my daughters attrny has made a petition to the court to put the girls back in r home we r waiting on the court date praying all day everyday for my girls i want this over for them i don't care about the hurt and pain i'm going thru i want my daughters back they can punish me all they want but not my girls they have done nothing wrong.i thought this system was looking out for the best intrest of the kids i'm not really sure anymore if god willing i get my daughters back i don't know if it's in my daughters best intrest i stay with foster care and it hurts cause thats all i ever wanted to do was do my part on earth and i wanted to help the kids. so after reading this (book) lol .Are we not deserving to be fosterparents did we really do something that was so horrible it destroyed a family and mess up 2 little girls life . and being an outsider looking in do you think we have a chance to get r girls back. thank u
