Dance, dance and more dance! My 12 yr old is a dance fanatic(8 yrs so far)and has a recital on the 20th and then she will be a helper at the Fairy Princess dance camp for a week with little kids and then the week after that will work with regular dance camp for 6-9 yr olds. She has her own dance camp for two weeks in July. The studio is 20 minutes away and camps are during the day.Somewhere in there are swimming lessons at the local pool and weekend camp outs at the lake. The 2 yr old will be with me and we are doing park days, pool days and the local Children's Museum has daily activities we can drop in on any time.

Really what type of dance. I'm curious because I use to be a dancer myself.. I grew up in the wonderful world of ballet. I love how it helps build kids self esteem and teaches them discipline....

Right now she takes 3 ballet classes along with tap, jazz, progressions, ballroom, hip hop and pre-pointe. She also helps out in a little kids ballet class. The studio is run by married professional dancers that really know how it teach not only the correct dance techniques, but also discipline and courtesy and how to behave no matter where you are. They are not allowed to be crazy children in class and when they go to competitions they are expected to behave. I can't wait for her to be 16, have a car and be able to drive herself there every afternoon. It's where she wants to be all the time!

My poor mom probably felt the same way. We had at least four classes during the week and pretty much all day on Saturdays... She admits now that it was good for us- we grew a lot in the years that we did dance. I hope my daughter will take interest in it.
