Hi, I'm Cheryl and I live in Kansas, I am hoping to meet moms whom I can talk to about parenting a 5 year old and a 8 month old baby. Foster parenting is new to me, we have only been foster parents for 5 months.

hi ther im not from kansas but am just south of the wichita area... kay county oklahoma just about 1.5 hours drive. my family and i have just met with a SW to begin the foster process. i have a 13 year old sister who we were given by the courts and have 2 bio kids ages 11 and 8 as well as i babysit a 2 year old and a newborn.... 2 weeks old....

I'm from Kansas. I live a couple hours north and east of you but travel to Wichita 2-3 a month.

I am in Kansas about 2 hours from Wichita, but always seem to be in Wichita cause it is our meeting spot to see my parents. I have been fostering for 3 years in June. Most of the time I can say I love it and when I don't seem to love it that mostly has to do w/ the system and not the kids! I have to bio kids. A 5 year old boy and a 17 month old girl. I would use their initials to refer to them but they had the same first and middle initials! We have 2 foster baby girls right now. One is 22 months old and the other is 15 months old. I also babysit a 10 month old for a 16 year old mom that attends my church so she can attend school to be able to support her son. Send a message or ask on here any questions you have and maybe I will have some advice for the 5 year old.

We are currently waiting for another placement. We have just been doing respite care for the last 6 months. Before that we took a 12 week training class, we needed the extra training to help us understand the mistakes made with our first placement so that when we do get another placement we don't repeat the mistakes we made.
