Question Any northeast rural foster/respite homes?

This forum has been so useful to me over the past year...thank you all! I'm a foster parent living in a rural area of northeast Texas, about 1 hour from Dallas. I feel like I have exausted every avenue for looking for respite providers or other foster homes who are willing to help other foster parents out. I do have one friend who's approved for respite but she has a very busy life. I would love to know of any of you that are within a reasonable distance or who know of respite people you could refer me to. "My" agency has been of no help at all. When I was a foster parent in California, us foster parents always linked up and traded respite care all the time.

I am not sure where you are, but we live in Royse City which is between Dallas and Greenville. We have had our background checks and CPR/First Aid. All we are waiting on is the final approval.
So we are qualified, let me know if we can help.

Wow! What a small world. We just moved here in December. And we love it!
I talked to our cw today and she told me that she will have our file submitted by the end of the week. I had to go and get our birth certificates because it is now required for the new minimum standards. Now all we have to do is wait on her to complete typing up her portion. We can't wait.
I also noticed that you have a son that is 11, I also have a son that is 11. Is yours in the 5th or 6th grade? Mine is in 5th because he has a Jan. birthday.
Ok, I think that I have run on enough right now. Are you guys using a private agency?

sudeetoo, I live in a little town called Whitesboro, about 20 minutes west of Sherman, tx.
I FULLY echo your sentiments about needing respite available, and if you're close I would LOVE to trade.

I haven't had any kids long enough to need time off yet, but I have felt really nervous about just not having the option of it when I might need it.

If you're close I'd be happy to help you with respite (even without a trade since I don't a new fc yet).

Hope this helps.
Your worker should be able to help you find respite. That is his/her job, to help you when you need help. If he/she is unable or unwilling to help you find respite then I would go to the person who is over him/her.
