Hi,

I am an adoptive parent of 2 in CT. We used a private agency that licensed us through DCF. We took classes to be licensed back in 2002. We are now thinking of foster care or another adoption. Do you think we would we have to re-take the classes? Is there a time limit on how long our pre-adoption work expires and needs to be re-done besides updating our study and have a back ground check redone? Is there a bed room rule or sharing rule beside same sex sharing is OK? The whole foster thing is very scary but I fell like I have more to give

Hi Jill. I wish I had a better answer for you, but here is the best I can come up with. I believe you will have to retake the classes and in Indiana the rule is that you must have at least 50 square feet per child and no bedroom can be in the basement, a hallway, or a closet (it's sad they have to point that out).
