Talking s.california foster mom looking for a pal

I have been a fosterparent for a little over a year, and I would really enjoy chatting with other fosterparents in my area. I have 2 bio kids V is 11 Z is 10, and I have 4 foster kids, k, 6 J, 4 L, 4 and B is 21/2 L&B are brothers.
I think it would be fun to chat with other foster mom's. That is why I found this room in the first place...LOL.
It would be nice to get to know other ppl close by, and chat, and conpare horror stories ( sw) LOL.

Anyways, if you'd like to chat, let me know, I'll be checking back in here ferquently.

Smile Hello!

Hi there,
i just read your post and wanted to say a little hello. I am not a current Foster Mom, but am in the process of becoming one. I just signed up to do this!!! I have been reading a lot and researching a lot on the people that already do this. There seems to be so much ABUSE by these children's real parents, that is so awful, especially i guess when if you're fostering and the kid gets taken away from you and gets sent back to their hell hole, how awful it must be to know that they are in that environment. Well, just wanted to say Hi! Rochelle

Smile S. Cal Fost-Adopt Mom

Hi Kayla's Mom! -

WOW! It seems you have your hands full! - I also have two bio children (daughters) age 8 & 11. We are currently reviewing the status of a sibling set of FIVE and are nervous but excited about it. Sounds like I could learn from your expertise in juggling it all. If you are interested, I would love to talk with you and hearing about your story.

Take care & I hope to hear from you soon,

S

LA Foster Mom

I'm a foster mom to a 14-year-old. I was her Volunteer Big Sister for 7 years and became her foster mom a year ago. Sometimes it's good but mostly I'm feeling dead to her now. I caught her in a big lie tonight and well, I am fantasizing sending her back. To where, I don't know. She was with her great-grandma who can't take care of her. Her mom is a drug addict and her dad is in prison. She's so closed off. I thought I knew her. Her therapist talks about Attachment Disorder, and overall, she's doing really well. She's got ADHD and is on meds and is doing OK in a new charter high school. I just feel don't feel love for her anymore. What's wrong with me. I feel like I've given up my life for her, and she cringes if I put a hand on her, etc. I've been in her life for seven years, but I still feel like I have to prove myself because I'm not her "real" family.

I just don't feel bonded to her. I want to give her back but it would devastate her and I'd feel guilty.
God, I can't even believe I'm saying all this. Mostly this has just been the thoughts in my head but I'm hoping someone can help.
Thanks!

Sorry I have not replyed, my puter went out, I have to come on at my friends house when i babysit.. Bigsister, you shouldn't fill guilty for your fillings, we all have thoughts about giving back a child. She would go ytoanother fosterhome, maybe a group home. My suggestion would be to talk to her, she should be old enough for you to tell her some of how you fill. Talk to her and see if she is happy with you, tell her you don't fill like she is happy, and if she's not that she does have other choise's. But don't fill alone, I have gaurdianship over my cousins kid, and have thought more then once about giving her up. somtimes its harder then ppl think, and ppl don't understand if there not in this situation. GOOD LUCK
