Hi,
Thanks for setting up this forum. I could use ideas on things to do with kids that are 2 and 3. We have a 22 month old that is medically fragile so we can't go outside too often, a 2 year old and a 3 year old. I am about video'd out! Our kids are hyperactive so I try to keep them busy but it's getting harder to think of things to do with them. Michelle

I'm excited to see this new forum! YAY!
Michelle -- we've had to lcome up with other ideas for the boys because of winter (although it was a beautiful 68 degrees here today!). Anyway...some of our favorites are: playdoh (there's a recipe for it somewhere), coloring, waterpaints, macaroni art (stick to construction paper with non-toxic paste/gluestick), and activities from educational books. For toys we have the favorite sit & spin (now it has annoying music, but they love it!), a Discovery Toys basketball thing (meant for indoor play that they LOVE), they have an indoor bowling thing too. Oh, and they love to pile up pillows and blankets and make a fort. Lastly, I should not forget trains and cars (the bigger ones meant for little kids) -- my 2 yo is loves them! Oh, if you still have any left from the holidays...a simple box (just make sure there aren't any staples or anything that could hurt them). They pretend they're in a car, boat, whatever -- if we don't have a box, they improvise with laundry baskets. Hope that helps!

Hi Gail,
Thanks for the ideas. I got them a bunch of playdoh for Christmas and my SIL got them some painting supplies. We painted pictures last night but I've been stalling on the playdoh LOL. We have all been sick for about a week and I'm afraid my patience would be tested if I had them playing with it just yet. I need to be feeling much better before I tackle that one. I'll have to find their sit-n-spin (the one with the annoying music, that's why it was put away LOL). Thanks again for the ideas. Now that they're starting to feel better I'm sure I'll be using them soon. Happy New Year!! Michelle

Michelle,
Hope you guys are all feeling better soon. LOL...believe me I understand about the Playdoh. Our 4yo has one that you make teeth for Shrek and pull them out, make toothpaste, etc. It makes such a mess, but they have fun. We have an old computer that we have educational games for toddlers and preschoolers. We've found those have been great. THey have matching games, counting, colors, alphabet, etc. Even the 2 yo knws how to start his game. He can count to 15 without missing any and knows most of his ABC's so I think it's helping. ![]()
