Hi! My name is Kim & my husband & I completed the classes here in NJ & rec'd our license in November. We've had many calls but has our first placement January 5th. Yesterday we learned she was going home to an aunt. It's been very rough. We have no children of our own and have become very attached. It's not an easy task to take on, and you'll survive. It's just a little rough. Ive been told as time goes on, it gets easier to be a foster parent. A friend of mine from the class went through the same thing and sent me a poem she found on this sight. It hits home....
Just a Foster Mom Just a foster mom they say You shouldn't have feelings either way Take a baby when we call
Love completely without any walls Care like he was your own Nurture, Protect, Affection is sown Sleepless nights just up walking Rocking baby to sleep with quiet talking Fall in love, completely accept Love every moment, every step A call comes, the dream is over Your precious baby is going to another Feel no emotions, just pack his things
Quickly fading is the song your heart sings Away he goes - you'll never know Your life hits a new low Sign up again they say We'll break your heart again another day
