CW Rating System?
DH & I have really been struggling with our CW, I have been chatting via email with our LW & its really got me thinking. She said for our next placement (if there is one, DH says this may be it) to strongly consider who the CW is, I asked her how do you really know when there are so many CWs and we are kinda new to fostering? It can be a potentially long commitment & having a bad CW really messes up your life. Anyway I am wondering how hard it would be to institute a CW rating system that would be online & only accessible for FP, to use when decieding on placements? It maybe a good tool for other things, CW reviews & such. But maybe the rating could be based on a survey done by FP?

They have something like this for university professors, I think it's called teacher grade, idk for sure. But based on the fact that this is already being done in other areas I'm sure it's possible. The real question is who will start up and back it?

That would be an excellent thing for a fosterparent association to do. Even informally. I keep a list of dumb and yucky people on the back of my door that I make all associates check before the give favors or trust other attorneys. SOmething like that would work great. Of course, that probably means only the bad fosterparents will get desperate enough to take cases from the CW's on the naughty list and that is not really fair to the kids who may have just randomly got stuck with the bad case worker.

Kinda what I thought too about the bad CW getting the non involved FP. I kinda wish we could do something state wide. Something where when you have had your placement x months, you get a questionaire asking different questions regarding your Fp experience. There are so many CW in our office I have no idea,if I got a call from one I have never worked with I would have no clue & when that happens I take the placement if it fits our criteria & if it sounds like it could go to adoption, but these bad CWs say what u want to hear. |

We have no control over the CW here and no amount of complaining will get them changed. :-(

RateMyTeachers.com - Professor, Teacher Ratings and Reviews by Public and Private School Students Parents and Faculty.
the problem is that you end up with kids rating you because they dislike you--not because of your abilities to teach. hack off a parent and your rating goes down. and i do understand the cw frustrations............. |

With this I was thinking it would be for foster/adoptive parents to do the survey regarding their CW. A star system, that way when you get a call you can see a "profile" of that CW based on past experiences. I don't know, it was just a thought more than anything. Kinda dumb for some offices if there is only a few CW's and you have been a FP for a long time?!? |

I thi k it is a pretty good idea, actually. I would love to be able to rate some cws on the way they conduct business. The offices may be small, but that doesn't mean anyone should get a by. It would just have to be taken with a grain of salt, you know? Everyone hacks off someone eventually.
You can go online and look up cws on CPS client forums. None of it is positive. |
