What is a permanency planning committee meeting?

I was handed a little note today saying there is a permanency planning committee meeting coming up for my boys. I am not sure what this is. We are already doing monthly team meetings. Boys were slam dunk adoption, now we are looking at RU. Bio mom still has to do her mental health eval, (put it off for 14 months).

I am just wondering what to expect at this meeting. Are we talking about the RU plan and when they are going home?

Here, it is a panel of community members who discuss the perm plan goal and the current situation of the children and they make a recommendation of the goal remaining the same/changing/etc. This then gets submitted to the judge for review/approval. These rotate here with court ones.

Thank you! That helps me. I spoke to the CASA too. She said it's unusual to include the foster parents and the bio parents at these meetings.

Interesting, here I am always invited and the panel asked me questions last time regarding adopting and bio family contact....but every state is unique
